Jackson staying overnight with my mom went really well. Though we did have some nap related issues. When I took him to my moms on Saturday it was right before lunch so I figured we would have lunch and then our nap but Jack screamed and screamed and my dad has a serious aversion to screaming. Since I was leaving Jack for the night I didn’t want to start off on a bad foot with my dad by having him freak out about Jack crying. So I went a picked him up.
My mom and I tried to get him to nap about an hour later but he only slept for about a half hour. After I left my mom tried again for a nap and he again only slept for a half hour.
On Sunday when I came to pick him up it was around nap time, and this was my mistake I should have waited to pick him up till after his nap. So needless to say he did not nap. So on Monday I figured we were guaranteed 2 good naps, he had to be tired right. Wrong. Monday’s afternoon nap was a 40 minute fail. Which brings us to today, Jack napped for an hour this am, followed by an hour and a half this afternoon. Still not enough but atleast it’s an improvement. He was seriously cranky by late afternoon and I tried to have him take a 3rd nap but he wasn’t having it. So early to bed it was.
I took Jack to CVS yesterday because I needed to pick up a few things. I hadn’t brought him in to see my former co-workers because it seemed silly to bring the whole stroller or seat in CVS and he was always too small for the cart. My plan was to bring my cart cover with me and put Jack in the cart when we got there. I don’t know what I was nervous about this. He sits well on his own and should fit fine in a shopping cart but I get nervous about the most minuet things. So we get to CVS and I parked in a spot where there was a cart nearby. I kept thinking that I would have to go get a cart and bring it back to the car or bring him to the cart which would then make it hard for me to put the cover on with him in my arms. Luckily the cart was near the spot and the cart cover went on easier than I had anticipated ( I had read the directions atleast 3 times before I left the house). So I put Jack in the cart, strapped him in and off we went. He was fine the whole time and even smiled at the girls I used to work with. He seemed slightly confused to be sitting in the cart but then he seemed to like being able to see everything around him. His eyes lit up when we went down the cereal aisle and he got to start at all the colorful boxes. All in all it was a good outing.
On another note I’m happy to announce that Wine in Mom will be having it’s first contest and thatI have a fabulous prize to give away and I’m really excited to share it with you! This is a real prize, don’t worry I’m not giving away hand-me-down clothes, old New Kid on the Block tapes, or pictures of Jack. Not that those wouldn’t be great prizes but I like to think the prize I have is better. So check back soon to find out about the contest which will likely be in my next post!
