At 11 Months

October 26, 2011
At 11 months…
I’ve realized that I am in denial about how old my little boy is. Last week I told someone he was 10 months old and that his birthday was next month. She looked at me confused and I said “he’s not 11 months till Sunday”.
Jack is pulling up on everything and anything. But he is still too cautious to take the much-anticipated first step.
Jack’s favorite toys are his stackable rings and his Winnie the Pooh honey pot. I bought him the honey pot toy when he was 6 months old. My mom said, “it’s lame he won’t like it”. I said it’s cute and it’s on sale.  Jack loves it. Pooh pops out of a honey pot when you press a button.
Jack is eating everything, hummus, pasta, sweet potatoes, cheese, grapes, pumpkin French toast, meat loaf and mac and cheese. He has little interest in baby food.
I’ve learned to pick my battles and didn’t say a word when my MIL fed him spaghetti o’s.
Sesame Street is the only thing he will watch.
Murray, Elmo, Cookie Monster and Grover are his favorite characters.
His favorite book is Brown Bear, Brown Bear. Pajama Time is a close second. I know both by heart.
Jack has outgrown baby towels and is in an age appropriate size 12 months. Which inevitably means my Mom and MIL have started buying him size 18 and 24 months.
I’ve become a bit more lenient when it comes to his schedule, though we still schedule our days around nap time.
Jack hasn’t picked a lovie yet.
Jack likes getting his picture taken and knows that the sound of the camera means it’s time to smile.
Jack is too big for the baby bath tub.
Jack loves swings. Swings are the best.
I’ve learned that I’m a bit of a control freak.
I’ve learned to (begrudgingly) ask for help.
I’ve learned that love is bigger than I imagined.

It's okay if you don't want him to grow up. Once they start school it seems to go at warp speed.

This is lovely. 11 months is such a great age. They all are, really. And enjoy each of them!
