Sundays are my favorite day of the week. John is off and lately it has been the only day we have had to spend together as a family.
This Sunday was a nice leisurely day. We had no plans so John worked on the outside of the house and hung the Christmas lights.
We had dinner as a family which rarely happens because Jack goes to bed early and John tends to work late. It was fun to sit down at the table together and just be.
Later that night John and I baked pumpkin pie and watched Horrible Bosses. It was horrible, the movie, not the pies or the time with my husband.
But I think the highlight of the day was when John came in to have lunch. He made himself a cup of minestrone soup and a grilled cheese. Jack crawled over to where John sat and tried to grab the cup of soup. John told him, “no” and moved the soup away. Jack cried. Then Bailey came over and tried to stick his nose in the soup.
“I’m surrounded” John laughed.
Bailey sat at John’s feet begging for soup.
I picked Jack up and sat him on my lap, but he still wanted the soup.
So John spooned the soup into Jack’s mouth and Jack loved it. Like a little baby bird Jack kept opening his mouth for more.
Jack sat on my lap and John fed him the soup which got all over me. Then Jack munched on some of John’s grilled cheese and although I was covered in soup I just sat back and enjoyed the moment with my boys.
Once Jack had finished the soup Bailey licked the bowl clean.
It was such a simple moment but it was perfect.

I know exactly what you mean. You have these very ordinary and mundane moments with your family yet, it's magical and wonderful and you want to burn it into your memory, just these everyday moments.
I hate spending the evening with a horrible movie, thanks for the heads up. I am actually not a big movie buff but am beyond excited for Hunger Games, just saw the trailer! The book is awesome if you're looking for a good read.

I love days like that, where there is no rushing, no stress, and you're able to just enjoy yourself and each other.

I love your Sunday! And the fact you are able to write about it. It sounds like bliss. Now if only we can get the munchkins to eat soup with-out going through all of our clothing!
