We are teething again and only napping once a day. It has been a draining couple of weeks leading up to 15 months. The teething, the loss of a nap, and those first steps have made this month such a challenge.
Jack is becoming so much more a toddler every day. When John let him walk on the sidewalk I nearly freaked out. He might fall! He might go in the street! He might get hurt! I immediately wanted to place him in a bubble, far from harm.
So much more of the world is his to explore these days. He leaps on to the couch effortlessly and then takes off running across it. He can get himself down but not always.
There will be bumps and bruises in our future. His head now hits the top of the kitchen table when he tries to stand under it. Funny thing, he seems to be the only one who doesn’t know this.
He loves beans and peas and mac and cheese. I love that he prefers my homemade mac and cheese above all others.
He plays by himself, a lot. Which is wonderful. He plays intently placing his toys in particular spots.
Sometimes he wanders into his bedroom and flips through his books. When I see him he drops his book and laughs.
He pulls clothes from his drawers and replaces them with shoes, books and the occasional sippy cup.
Sesame Street is still king but we are trying to branch out to Bob the Builder and Blue’s Clues. No Barney or Thomas the Train in this house.
He’s gotten big, SO BIG. Like all 5’0” of me looks ridiculous carrying him big. But he loves to be carried and my arms thank me for it.
He’s still a bit shy when it comes to new people but if you say “Hi” he’s bound to start babbling away. Though don’t expect to understand a word he says. The 5 words you will understand are “hi”, “bye-bye”, “Dada”, “Mama” and “ball”.
15 months seems so much older than 12 months. I’m amazed at how 3 months have transformed my baby into a toddler.
15 months is fun and exhausting, it’s challenging and exciting. Yeah this is what 15 months is like.
Standing on top of his Jack in the Box.
Sitting on the couch, this lasted all of about 2 minutes.

I remember & it IS exhausting! They are into everything, they have no fear and they never slow down. Bless you for being a mom, the hardest job in the world.
