Dinner Can Wait

I was making dinner on Sunday night. Filling a pot with boiling water and glancing out my kitchen window. A window that looks out into my yard, a window that was once a selling point for this house.

And there they were, my 3 boys, playing in the yard. I put the pot down and grabbed my camera to capture the 3 of them playing.

Somers Point house

Because these times are short and fleeting and these moments gone too fast. 7 years, 2 months and some odd days ago we brought this house and made it our home. Not with paint or floors or fancy things but with memories.

Earlier in the day we got word that an offer had been made on our house, a house we had only listed 3 days earlier. An offer that was too good to refuse. In a matter of weeks we will be leaving out first home, so yeah, dinner could wait while I captured one more moment.

Making memories wherever you go. When you move as often as we have you quickly realise its the moments that make it all worthwhile and memorable!
This is the link to my Captured Memory btw
since otherwise you end up on the landing page and its over on the homeschooling side 😉

Yes, the pictures take precedence over dinner. So are you moving far?

I read the post below and am so sad you had to walk out of such a good movie. You are such a wonderful mother though. The things we do for our kids. Good thing you wrote it in a blog post so he will know how lucky he was.

We are moving about 20 minutes south of where we live. Closer to our parents which is nice and a more family friendly community.

I'm sad I had to walk out on it too. Hopefully we will get back to see it.

I love that you took that moment and embraced it. We should all do that more often.

You are so right…we have to treasure these moments because the time flies so fast. I am sure it will be hard to leave your first house, but it is a "house" and a "home" is wherever you are with your family. It will be a wonderful next phase on your family's journey I am sure!
