Somewhere Only We Will Know

I was going to write about
something else today. Something that has been weighing heavy on my mind but I’m
not sure I’m ready to write about it (and NO I’m not p****** just in case you
were getting any ideas).
So I’m going to write about the other thing that is
weighing heavily on my mind, which is finding a new home.
When we listed our house for sale
we never thought it would sell quickly let alone in 3 days.
And while we had a
plan to build a new home the idea of waiting 9 months or more for it to be done (all the while
living with my parents) has become a really daunting idea. So we decided to
start looking at existing homes, which is turning out to be just as daunting.
We started searching in the
township where my husband grew up and we weren’t thrilled with the houses that
were available.
Now we have decided to expand our
search to another township where we have friends, but we aren’t overly familiar
with the neighborhoods.
 And I’ve been
struggling with deciding where, is the best place to raise Jack. I want the
best schools, the best neighbors; I want parks and playgrounds and shopping
nearby. I want a neighborhood where we can belong.
Basically I want it all. What else is
new?
So I decided to pose the question
on Facebook about what people who lived in the unfamiliar township thought of
the schools, neighborhoods ect…
And oh my, that wasn’t my best idea;
anyone and everyone who didn’t live there responded to my post and they didn’t
have many nice things to say.
While I appreciated their opinions
I felt bad for my friends who live and raise their kids in that area. So I sent
some messages out to those friends and got some good feed back.
We looked at a few homes in that township today and still
didn’t find the one.
And I’m obsessed with finding the
one.
When we decided to buy our current
home I knew it was the one. I had a feeling. I was in love. I loved every nook
and cranny and a part of me still does.
This house felt right from the beginning.
And I’m searching for that feeling
again.
I want to walk into a home and be
able to imagine Jack playing in the family room and see myself cooking in the
kitchen. I want to see holidays and birthday parties. I want to see friends and
family. I want a place where memories can be made.
Yeah I want it all, I want the one.

Congratulations on selling your home so quickly! We would love to be able to do that. Once you add a child to the mix finding a new home becomes almost overwhelming.

    Good Luck!

Oh, you have to find the one. A home is such a huge purchase, a huge change, and HUGE part of who you are as a family. Good luck!

I totally understand 'the feeling'. Your home will let you know it's right, I experienced the same thing with this one. Schools were our top priority and we love it here. Hope you find your 'one'.
