Last week I decided to enter Jack in the local baby parade. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
We were a last minute entry and didn’t have time to make some kind of fancy float.
So we entered Jack under the category of “attractive baby”. Where it specifically said in all caps and bold: NO DECORATED STROLLERS.
So me being the rule abider that I am, did not decorate the stroller. Instead I put Jack in cute Hawaiian shirt, washed the jelly of his face and called it a success.
I was wrong, it was not a success, it was slightly embarrassing.
Everyone in the “attractive baby” category with the exception of one other mom had decorated their strollers.
There was a sailor and a cowboy and a golfer. And then there was Jack totally attractive in his Hawaiian shirt.
Some of the moms had even dressed to match their child’s ensemble. Like the one mom who’s matching sailor outfit was more sexy Halloween than summer baby parade… but I digress.
But I was embarrassed I looked like a mom who didn’t try, when in fact I was a mom who read the freakin rules.
And I’m not saying this because he’s my kid (OK maybe I am) but I seriously had the most attractive boy ages 1-2.
Needless to say we didn’t win.
But we’ll be back next year, decorated, costumed and ready to win!
Cause you can’t tell me this guy is not the most attractive baby? Right?!

Ok. He totally wins because he is super cute. But.. that is the trophy? Because if that is the thing he wins… you are going to have to hide it with all the creepy clowns people randomly give him. otherwise he will never sleep because of all the nightmares. Yay for following the rules… and not looking like a hooker in the parade 😉
