There has been a lot of change in our lives this past week.
We FINALLY moved into our new home. Every time I think this my body let’s out a giant sigh of relief, as if all the stress I’ve been bottling up for 5 months comes pouring out.
Which it has, frequently. Between the moving, the unpacking and the general feeling of being out of place, my stress level has been bubbling over.
Add to that a toddler that locked himself in his new playroom and a blankie that went MIA (thank god I found it), you can guess how much I’ve needed a glass of wine.
I’ve had some less than pretty moments this past week.
But I keep coming back to this spot. This spot that got me through 5 months of waiting.
This kitchen and this window that I knew would become my spot. A place where meals are shared and memories are made. My little window out into the world. Where I would drink my coffee and write or read or relax.
Where I could watch what I have started to fondly think of as my Wisteria Lane.
And even though most days I find myself feeling a little lost, not sure what to make of this new space and place. I find myself driving the wrong way not sure, how to get from point A to point B. It will come with time.
These are all adjustments and we are all adjusting. Except for Bailey who seems to have a love at first sniff relationship with this house. He loves the back yard and keeps finding places to relax.
Unlike our last move, Jack is taking longer to adjust. Bed times have been rough and naps have been tough. And I remind myself that he too is getting used to this place, he too is a little lost.
And I keep coming back to my spot, as I always knew I would. A place that brings me comfort and inspiration. A spot that makes me feel at home.

It takes time to adjust after moving but you will get there. Your little spot looks wonderful.

That is a lovely spot. The new house looks really nice. And yes, you will all get there and more settled soon. In the meantime, hang in there… 🙂
