I packed two camera’s for our trip to Disney World earlier this month. My new GE Pro Bridge Camera, which would give me lots of shooting options and my 3 year old canon point and shoot.
I was so excited the give the new GE camera a good run for it’s money. Unfortunately I don’t have much luck with it and within hours of us arriving in Disney the batteries died for the umpteenth time and I called it quits.
Then my point and shoot has this horrible delay on it which makes it hard to captures pictures of an on the go toddler.
So long story short I took over 500 pictures on my IPhone. And for the record I love my IPhone. The convenience, the speed, the way everyone under the sun knows how to use one so I don’t spend time having to explain it. I love it. It never fails me. But I would love (LOVE) to learn how to use a real camera effectively.
But until then I will continue to big puffy heart my IPhone and it’s photo’s….

I grew up about a 30 minute ride from WDW. My first trip was before the park even officially opened on one of the nights of a soft opening. I remember standing there looking down Main Street and thinking Holy Cow. I still love to go back. Though you are right. Nothing beats going those first few times with your (or any) child.

That must have been such a cool experience going to the soft opening.

First, Jack's eyes do me in every single time! He would walk all over me!!
Second, my favorite Disney moment was when Ash was four. She met Aladdin at breakfast and later in the afternoon parade, he remembered her name and pulled her up onto the float with him. She was in absolute heaven. He did ask before taking her up and she looked at us like, "Come one, guys! This is Aladdin we're talking about! You better say yes!". She still talks about it at almost 11 years of age!

Awww Kristen that is so sweet, he tends to get me with his eyes and walk all over me from time to time too.
Your daughter experience with Aladdin sounds amazing I would still be talking about it too.

So much fun!!! Those are great pictures, regardless of how you got them. 🙂 I was too nervous to use my big fancy camera sure anything important until I had practiced a lot with it. Even still, though, out would probably be a pain to carry around Disney!
Julia Hunter says
So many people carry big cameras around Disney. I hope that some day i get comfortable with one.

Yay for Disney! I took my boys there for the first time last month. It was 'magical' to say the least, and I hope that we get a chance to do it again. We're over the pond now, so I am actually really curious about the whole Euro Disney thing. Just seems so… American lol.
Julia Hunter says
I have always wondered what Euro Disney would be like. I hope you get to check it out.

I've been wanting to take a photography class forever, hopefully it will happen this next year. I think your pics turned out great, especially the ones with the characters. Experiencing Disney with your child is just magical right?
I went once as I kid and 'It's a small world' has stayed in my mind for more than 30 years.
Julia Hunter says
I would love to take a photography class. I have a bunch of books but I just can't seem to figure it out on my own.
