Yesterday the weather was awful.
After Jack’s nap, the first round of storms had passed and it was beautiful out. You would have never known that just a few hours before the skies were black.
So we set out on a walk, and Jack picked up some leaves. He handed them to me one at a time. Then he picked up a third leaf and said, “I give this one to Daddy”.
That’s just like him, always thinking of his Daddy. So I pressed the leaves safely in my hands.
The skies grew dark, again, and we headed inside. Jack asked to make Daddy a Father’s Day picture.
I took out some crayons and paper and showed Jack how to press the leaves between the pages and color over them.
When John came home, Jack was playing with our neighbors kids but that did not stop him from his nightly shouts and cheers and jumps for joy, yelling “Daddy’s home! Daddy! Daddy!”
My boys love for his father has no bounds. It’s loud and apparent and so full. He never misses a chance to hug his Dad or get a piggy back ride or sit on his lap.
Daddy hangs the moon, the stars and the sun and Mommy is just here to watch over them all.
They say you never know love until you have a child and I think you never know how much you love your husband until you see him with your child.
Happy Father’s Day to my husband, who would be embarrassed to know I was saying these things on a blog of all places. Jackson, Bailey and I love you.

Aw, what a sweet post, Julia.
You're right, seeing our husbands with the children, that's amazing and awesome.

So very sweet. I completely agree – you never know how much you can love your spouse until you see him with the kids. It still takes my breath away years later.
