My 6 Favorite Moments of Summer So Far…
We took Jack to Sesame Place in June with our friends. We had a blast spending the day with friends who we really don’t get to see enough of. It was a day full of smiles but, this smile was my favorite, while Jack was watching the Sesame Street Rocks show he got up and started dancing with his Mickey Mouse.
Sometimes things come together just right, like the Sunday after July 4th when our friend invited us out on his boat. My MIL took Jack and we spent the morning relaxing on the boat. For the first time in weeks I finally felt relaxed and revived.
We haven’t had much family time this summer but we’ve been making the most of the time we have had. On July 4th we caught a day on the beach and lunch at a favorite restaurant. We skipped the fireworks and barbecued at home, it was perfection.
These people are the best. We’ve been friends for a long time but this is our first summer being neighbors and so far it has been a blast. From 2 country concerts, a turkey fry and some serious bounce house fun it’s been great living down the street from them.
We celebrated my 32nd birthday at the Beach House in Strathmere. It was family night with free bubbles, face painting etc. Jack had a blast and I got to have a “toes in the water, ass in the sand, not a worry in the world a cold beer in my hand, life is good today” kinda moment.
This little boy who I am so fortunate to get to spend my days with. We’ve had this summer to relax and enjoy each other’s company and we’ve developed a rhythm to our days, that works for both of us. I am so smitten with him and with our life together. Even when the days are long they are filled with so many moments that are precious and fleeting.
And this two year old face is what I will remember most about this summer.
