We went to Storybook Land last week with friends. Jack and I had been there before but this was the first time he really enjoyed it. It was also the first time I got to try out my new camera, and of course this face was all “don’t take my picture”. He better give that up before we head to Disney in a few months.
I got another writing gig. I can’t believe I haven’t mentioned it here sooner. I’m writing for Jersey Family Fun. It’s very different from blogging here in a space that is all my own, but it’s good and makes me feel like my writing is for real if that makes any sense. And it’s inspired me to set some goals for my writing future.
Speaking of goals I’ve been getting better at running. I might even say I’m a runner. What started 6 months ago as “oh god I’m so not a runner” has turned to “maybe I am a runner”. I enjoy it and I’m starting to see progress and pay off. Yesterday after beating my personal best time I was all “I’m going to do a Run Disney event in the future”. I was having grand illusions of me in a tutu completing The Princess Half Marathon. Then today I got up and ran and I made it but it wasn’t pretty, if you know what I mean. Maybe a 5k is a better place to start.
My hubs did something pretty awesome last week and scored me free tickets to The Killers. I love when I mention something I want and he finds a way to make it happen.
The summer is starting to set and I love Fall but still there is always something a bit melancholy about another summer coming to an end. I was so anxious about going at it on my own this summer. With no preschool, no music classes and John working 6 days a week, 12 hours a day. But we are making it and I’ve loved the one on one time with Jack.
My writing has been less serious here lately and I have no answers for it except that I haven’t had much time for serious, after all it is summer. But I do want to focus more on the writing.
I got to have drinks with some of my favorite gals and it was so fun to just be and laugh and enjoy. My only regret is that I forgot to take a picture.
We spent a few days in my hometown sitting on the beach and eating and drinking our way through town. It was fun to play tourist for a few days.
A few months ago I downloaded the new Snoop CD (disclaimer Snoop is a big supporter of my favorite soap opera so I picked up his CD), and there is a song called The Good Good and every time I hear it I’m reminded of all the good that there is in my life right now. And maybe it’s focusing on all the good that and just soaking it all in is why I haven’t been blogging all that much.

Love all your good good. Our summer is coming to an end and even though I'm a little sad about it – I try to look for the good. Our youngest will start prek and all my chicks will be out of the house – but it's good. A new start, a new journey…

I was just going to type exactly what Susi typed at the beginning of her comment. No lie. 😉
Anyway, yes, yay for the GOOD GOOD! And good for you on the running! I think it's awesome that you are already even contemplating a half mary!
Love that last pic! Hold on to these last days of Summer…

All kinds of good and exciting news for you!
Congrats on the writing gig!
Fall is also my favourite season and even though I'm a little sad to see summer go, I'm really looking forward to fall.

Congrats on the new job!! That's exciting. And have fun at the Killers! I've seen them twice now, I think. One of my favorite bands!
Running is just exactly how you described it, for me, too. But I've made so much progress and know you can, too. There's a tutu in your future if you keep it up, I'm sure!
