5 Favorite Blogs

When I first started blogging I felt very alone. It was one of the reasons I started blogging, to put my voice out there in the event that someone else needed to hear it. I wanted to create a resource that in the event we had another kid I could look back and remember what those early days were like. But I also wanted to create a space that I felt was honest about how exciting, happy, exhilarating, frustrating and down right hard motherhood can be.

After a few months of blogging I was surprised to discover that there was a whole world out there of Mommy bloggers writing about there own experiences. And I started reading and reading, so many of these wonderful blogs.

In the past few years of blogging I’ve been fortunate to make some friends and find blogs that I come back to week after week. For me my favorite blogs aren’t always the funniest or the ones that are the most popular to be they are the ones that when I read them I can envision myself having a beer or a cup of coffee with the writer, the ones that I imagine I would like just as much in real life.

The Miss Elaine-ous Life

Even though this is Elaine’s link up, I would have a hard time putting this list together and not including Elaine. Some how Elaine’s blog was one of the first “mom blogs” I discovered. Elaine’s writing is honest and fun and she has some of the most beautiful pictures I’ve ever seen. Not just that but there is something about Elaine’s blog that just makes you feel welcome. She writes like she is talking to an old friend. Whenever I need a little pick me up I go to Elaine’s blog.

Sellabit Mum 

Tracy is a mom to three girls who live in Minnesota. Tracy’s blog is always good for a laugh and her post about The Olive Garden being a gateway drug had both John and I laughing. I also enjoy her fashion posts, Tracy has a great sense of style and I can totally appreciate that.

GFunkified

Greta is a mom to 4 who lives in Kansas. Greta’s blog is the home of the ever popular IPhone Photo Phun, where every week bloggers link up and share their favorite phone photos. Greta’s blog is always full of love and laughter and oh so much goodness. Greta is currently raising money for the leukemia and lymphoma team in training.

One of the best parts for me about blogging is that I’ve found myself a community of friends, not just bloggers, that I’ve come to know and love who come and visit and comment on my blog and Facebook page. These ladies who read my blog week after week and who are always there when I’m shouting at the universe about a rough day, are the biggest and best benefit of having started my blog.
