Year in Review – Week 1

Last year I did one big year in review post and it was a lot of work. So this year I’m breaking it down week by week, and taking a glance back at the last year.

January 2013

January is always a bit of a let down to me. The holidays are over, it’s too cold to play outside and summer is way too far away. But this year January wasn’t too bad.

We went back to Disney on a bit of a whim. It was so much fun that we are repeating it this year.

January was also the month that Jackson started school for the first time ever. It was a bit of a transition but now nearly a year later I am thrilled that we did it and so happy with the school that we choose.

February 2013

I usually find January to be the toughest month of the year but this year it was February. Maybe it was the endless days in doors and the cold weather or maybe it was just me. Let’s just say I had a case of the winter blues and desperately wanted some serious time alone.

Jack had a stomach bug for the first time and I found myself feeling like a new mom all over again.
But there were bright spots in the month like making Valentines and a simple Sunday afternoon.

Also John and I went to New York City for Valentines Day which was such a nice getaway.

March 2013

It snowed so much in March. Just endless little snow storms that were not enough to play in but just enough to cause the roads to be a mess. When it comes to snow I’m a bit of an all or nothing kind of gal. But Jack loved his first experience in the snow.

While Spring arrived in March it still felt a long ways off, so I escaped the winter weather and spent a long weekend in Florida with my mom. We shopped and went to the spa and saw a play starring one of my favorite soap stars. It was a wonderful escape.

I also debated going back to work, but ultimately decided that the timing and the job wasn’t right. I stressed over the decision for so long but now months later I know I made the right decision.

I wrote Promises to My Future Daughter in Law which continues to be my most popular post. I also wrote A Letter to My Friends who Want to Have Kids. March was good month for blogging.

What Did you Do Last January, Feb or March?

Stop back next week for week 2 of my year in review.

You had a great first quarter! I love Disney we keep going every year. I'm a little bit jealous of your trip to Florida. I would love to do something like that for my mom!

I love that you went to Disney to bump up the month of January- what a perfect way to add some smiles! Also, I think it's great that you got to escape to Florida with your mom. I'm ready to do the same thing, and it's only December.
