Since Jack rarely takes a nap these days we do quiet time in the afternoon. Quiet time comes with some privileges like getting to have a snack, watch his favorite show or play with Mommy’s I_ad as long as he remains quiet and stays on the couch.
Quiet time is really important to me. It’s the one time of day where I can attempt to get things done without being interrupted. And the only way not be interrupted is to ensure that Jack is entertained. Which is why I’m always on the look-out for new apps that he can play.
The apps that I like best for kids are ones that are educational, interactive and easy to play. Because honestly the last thing I want during quiet time is to be asked to “help” him play his game. If he can’t play it on his own, then it’s out.
The Kids Academy App combines all the things I want in a kids App with all the things Jack loves. The App is easy to play and required no instruction from me. Jack started to play and was immediately enjoying tracing letters, numbers and shapes. His favorite game on the App is the an alphabet game where the letter comes up and then there is an activity to go with it. The animation is cute and fun and the music is optional.
Unlike many Apps for kids this one isn’t high on the noise level, which I love. There are also parental controls that require users to “swipe up” to access which limits Jack from getting into them and from accessing anything that he could purchase.
The Kids Academy App available for Android and Apple products is a fun way to introduce kids ages 2-5 to letters and numbers.
Since downloading the Kids Academy App, Jack has asked to play his “letter” game every day during quiet time and for me that’s a win.
