Days of Summer – Week 3

Days of Summer Week 3

I can’t believe we are 3 weeks into summer already or that today is July 4th. I always feel like summer flies by once you hit July 4th.

Friday June 27, 2014

We were pretty tired on Friday from our day at the water park. Jack spent the morning playing with friends and I got my hair done. The state of my hair was pretty awful and I was so grateful to my friend who watched Jack while I got my grays taken care of. Friday afternoon we played outside and had our road rally. It was a great relaxing day.

Saturday June 28, 2014

We got out early on Saturday morning to hit the Old Navy, $1 flip flop sale. I don’t know why I went I didn’t even get any flip flops but I did get some good deals on basics like tanks and tees that I live in. Then we hit Chic-Fil-A for an early lunch and I soaked up some free wifi while Jack played in the play area. We stopped at the local farm stand on the way home, between that stop and our weekly CSA I had the makings for 2 completely local side dishes to take to our neighbors for dinner that night. Jack took a really brief nap and I decided to sneak in some pool time, which lasted about 5 minutes. Once Jack was up we swam in the pool and then went to our neighbors for a fried chicken dinner. The kids had a blast running around and dancing to Happy.

Sunday June 29, 2014

This was a perfect summer day! We had our friends over to enjoy the pool. We ordered pizza and enjoyed the pool. After the pool John, Jack and I had ice cream for dinner and Jack was in bed by 6:30 (and he slept till 7:15 the next morning). All in all a great day!

Monday June 30, 2014

Mondays are always full of errands for us and this week it included a stop at the seafood store near the house. Jack really liked the blue letters on the building and asked to have his picture taken by them.

Tuesday July 1, 2014

I worked on Tuesday, and as is the case with days that I work I’m not very good at getting a picture and today was no exception so here’s an extra fun picture of Jack from Sunday’s pool day.

Wednesday July 2, 2014

One of my oldest friends (25 + years!) was down in Sea Isle with her family. We met up on the beach and the kids got to play. Then we went to the promenade for dinner and ice cream. The kids got along well and it was so wonderful to see life come full circle and watch our kids play in the same places and spaces that we did as kids. When Jack took her daughters hand and they walked down the promenade together, it was the cutest thing ever.

Thursday July 3, 2014

I worked and it was a crazy day. The water cooler at work has not been working, so the water tastes funny and they found a snake at the desk next to mine, so good times. The forecast for July 4th was rain from a hurricane so I sent John out to stock up on necessities, I mean wine and rum, those are necessities right?

What did you do this week? What are your plans for the 4th of July?

A snake???? I'd freak. There was one in my kitchen once. I tried to catch it but it hissed at me.

We stocked up with alcohol for the storm, too. I'm so jealous of your pool!
