Summer is more than halfway over and that is leaving me a little depressed. Where did the time go? What happened to all the fun things I was going to do? Why haven’t we done more this summer? And I have this need to cram so much into August. It seems (OK, it was) just last week that I was saying we had been doing too much and should slow down but now, now I just want to do more.

I worked my first Friday in a long time, it was really hectic. But when I got home I was rewarded by the arrival of my Sweet Suite box. I even poured myself a glass of wine to enjoy as I sorted through the toys. I was like a kid at Christmas.

Jack and I made zucchini muffins in the morning and then John came home from work early, which was a nice surprise. We got a sitter and went to Bonefish for drinks and apps and then went to a local bar to play pool with friends, it turned out to be a really fun night out. We tried out a new sitter and while Jack wouldn’t go to bed, he said he had fun with her and I guess that is all that matters.

John took Jack to the Phillies game and I went for drinks and lunch with the girls. This is becoming a bit of a tradition and one that I totally love, John takes Jack to baseball game I take myself to the bar, we all win! Well except the Phillies, they aren’t so great this year.

After our morning swimming lesson I planned an impromptu play date with a group of friends that we hadn’t seen in awhile. I love that so many people came out and the kids had a blast. After we got home someone was a bit tired.

Another day, another impromptu play date. This time we had friends over to enjoy the pool though I think the moms enjoyed the pool more than the kids. But I did love watching the kids run around the yard and play so nicely together.

Work day Wednesday, I’m not a fan. So I took myself to DSW afterwards but I didn’t find anything. Maybe I’m not as big of a fan as I think.

It ended up being an errand day but we started off at gym class where Jack tried out forward rolls and got to play with the big net. It must have tired him out cause he fell asleep on the couch later on. He also got another hair cut and I swear every time they cut it he gets older.
