I can’t believe we are 7 weeks into the summer, I’m not sure where the time went. It feels like Jack just had his last day of school and now I’m already getting a bill for September.
Time goes too fast. That’s how I feel these days, that it is just going to fast. And that even when I try to make the most of it, to squeeze all the fun out of summer that I can, I still tend to feel like it’s not enough. I need another month of summer, preferably one where the weather stays nice and Jack goes to school so I can finally clean the house and maybe lounge by the pool a bit. I can dream right?

I worked and then raced home to go to the see Guardians of the Galaxy with some of our friends. It was the perfect date night, everyone loved the movie and then we went to a couple of local bars afterwards. We met a guy that looked like Rob Ford, which provided a lot of laughs. When my friend told me it was after midnight I was shocked, I hadn’t been out that late in awhil.

We had our first “official” pool party, meaning that I invited people over a week or so ago and then the day of the party the weather was crap. I was tempted to cancel but we had already invited everyone and I figured it was a rainy day and people would be happy to get out of their houses to eat and drink. The party ended up being a really great time. I made my friend Reesa’s Seafood Boil and it was a big hit.

We were all a bit tired but we had agreed to go to a family party about 2 hours away so we made the journey with a cranky 3 year old. We ended up having a good time but there wasn’t much for Jack and he was seriously being a brat so we bailed early. Mostly he was excited to get home and check out his new toy, that I”m reviewing for Jersey Family Fun.

We needed a day to just be at home but boy was it a long day. Jack had swim lessons at 9:30 and then we hit Shop Rite and the rest of the day just drug on and on and by bedtime I was totally done with it all. He was still recovering from late nights over the weekend and so was I. I took some paints out mid-afternoon and he had a great time painting in the driveway, he said, “painting is his favorite thing ever”.

Diggerland! John and I took Jack and his friend Nick to Diggerland USA in West Berlin, NJ. The boys were really excited to go and had a good time despite it being a really hot day for an amusement park. We took this selfie on the train, Nick didn’t want to be a part of it but I think he still had a good time.

I worked, and when I got home I pulled out my calendar and took this nice shot of what September looks like before I add all of the craziness into it. We haven’t been as busy this month but we still haven’t had much of break. But that’s life I guess.

Jack had his gym class where he has been practicing forward rolls and playing sports. Which got me thinking to fall soccer sign-ups, and led to this conversation on the Facebook page. I signed him up for soccer even though he said he didn’t want to. I just want him to try it. That afternoon my friend Marci and her twins came over to swim. I like days like this where I don’t really have plans for us and am able to just text friends and get together, it’s been so rare this summer that I’m really glad we are able to do it now. And Marci brought me some of my favorite cupcakes which I enjoyed at the end of a long day.
