Days of Summer Week 8

This week I really slacked in the picture taking department. Maybe it’s cause we didn’t do very much or maybe it’s because as the summer rolls to an end I can only take so many pictures of the same thing. Though I’m a little sad because I have missed some great photo opp’s this week.

Friday August 8, 2014
Another Friday, another day of work. I’m looking forward to not working on Fridays come the fall.

Saturday August 9, 2014

I was on a mission to get things done around the house as it had become a bit too messy. I’m not sure why I bothered because less than a week later I feel like I’m right back where I started. It’s probably because this little guy continues to make messes.

My husband invited some friends over that we had not seen in ages. Jack had fun playing with the kids and it was really nice to catch up. Our friends are vegetarians so I had some fun using my CSA to make a delicious meat free lunch.

It was Monday Funday, well at least for me. I took Jack to swimming lessons and he is really coming along great. My in-laws picked Jack up to go to the zoo with one of John’s aunts. So I had the rest of the day to myself. I met a few friends for a SUP (Stand Up Paddle board) lesson, that we had rescheduled after my birthday SUP was canceled. It was a great lesson and no one fell in. I can’t wait to go back in a few weeks for SUP and Sip. After that I ran home showered and met another friend for lunch at a beach bar. We chatted and had a couple of drinks, it was a great afternoon. On my way home John asked if I wanted to grab a quick dinner, so we squeezed that in before Jack came home. Then I met a friend to walk the bridge between Ocean City and Somers Point. It’s a beautiful walk and it was so nice to just talk. I really wish I had taken some pictures of the views from the bridge. It was a great day.

It was supposed to be a stay home in PJ’s and get it done kind of day, but that never seems to work when you have a kid. Jack wanted to go to the library and to be entertained and I did not accomplish nearly as much as I had hoped. Oh well. I did build this sweet house and make some delicious beet muffins.

Wednesday August 13, 2014
I worked in my old office today. It was great to see old faces and friends and catch-up. At the same time I felt really out of sorts, so much had changed and I kept making mistakes and everyone was very forgiving and grateful that I came into help, which was very kind of them. I hope they are just as kind on Friday.

The books I’ve been trying to read this summer. Just gave up on Ladder of Years I didn’t like the main character.

Thursday August 14, 2014

Jack and I went to our favorite summer playground, The Longport Beach Playground, with friends after we visited my favorite farmers market. It’s hard to believe that it’s mid-August and this was my first time getting to the market. I guess between the CSA and us being busy this summer it just hasn’t happened. I’ll definitely be heading back this Thursday.

This picture says two things, one I don’t clean out my car often and two how cute and silly this boy is.
