While food trucks seem to be popping up on every corner in major cities across the country, Here in Southern New Jersey food trucks aren’t as commonly found which is why I’ve been looking forward to “Trucker”ton at the the Tuckerton Seaport since I heard about it last month.
The First Annual “Trucker”ton Food Truck and Beer Fest will be held this Saturday August 16 from 11 am to 7 pm at the Tuckerton Seaport. “Trucker”ton will host a dozen food trucks serving up delicious treats and great drinks. There will also be live entertainment with three bands playing through out the day.
With so many great food and drink offerings I like to have a plan of what I want to try so that I don’t miss out on any of the great offerings.
5 Ways My Inner Foodie is Excited for “Trucker”ton
1. The Cow and The Curd. Not only do I love the name of this food truck, that features such options as Wisconsin Battered Fried Cheese Curds they also have a selection of beers to go with their selections. This award winning food truck won the Philly Vendy Awards People’s Taste Award among other awards so it’s definitely on my must do list.
2. 1 Potato Two. 1 Potato Two is home of the spudwich, need I say more. I love potatoes and never miss an opportunity to eat one, especially one that sounds this awesome.
3. Pinelands Brewery. There has been a lot of buzz around Pinelands Brewery lately and I’ve been wanting to try it out. I always get excited when another brewery or winery opens in South Jersey. I’m looking forward to trying the Cannonball Stout.
4. Valenzano Winery. If you are here then you know I love wine, it’s in my name, so it goes without saying that I will sampling some wine. I’m torn between trying the sangria, the Jersey Devil Honey Wine or the Apple Cider Wine. I might just have to try all three.
5. Waffles De Lys. Waffles De Lys will be serving up Belgium style waffles that are lightly caramelized on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Many of the toppings are imported from France and include raspberry and mango coulis, caramelized hazelnut crumbs and chestnut spreads. While they all sound delicious I know I will be going for the sea salt caramel, because I can’t resist anything sea salt caramel.
Music begins at noon with the Dan Brown Duo followed by the Shady Street Show Band and ending the day with the Billy Walton Band who will take the stage at 5 pm. Limited edition “Trucker”ton T-shirts will be available for purchase.
