For a few years I’ve been trying to come up with a fun way to kick off the Christmas season in our house. Last year I saw a lot of Christmas Eve boxes going around on Pinterest with PJ’s and hot chocolate but for me Christmas Eve is just too late to get new Christmas jammies. Personally I like Jack to wear his Christmas jammies as often as possible throughout the holiday season.
Which is why this year I put together a Christmas Kick-off box. On Thanksgiving night my plan is to surprise him with this fun box filled with new Pajamas, Holiday books and a little extra treat, a Magical Elf to play with throughout the holiday season.
This box was really easy to make. I took a large gift box that I had and put some tissue paper in. Then I added the items that I wanted to include. You can really include anything you want from pajamas to books to holiday movies. Anything that to you kicks off the start of the holiday season.
Here is what I included in my box:
Santa Blanket Sleeper- Mickey’s Christmas Carol 30th Anniversary – Special Edition (Blu-ray/DVD + Digital Copy)
- The Berenstain Bears Get Ready for Christmas (Berenstain Bears/Living Lights)
- Santa Is Coming to New Jersey
- Magic Elf
While the Elf won’t be included in the box every year, this is our first year with an Elf and I wanted a fun way to present the Elf to my son. If your family already has an Elf you can always leave him out of the box or make the box an arrival gift from your Elf.
Other fun items to include in your Christmas Kick-Off box:
I love the idea of starting the holiday season in a fun and festive way. I also love that all of the items in the box will be things that we will enjoy throughout the holiday season and for years to come. I’m looking forward to giving Jackson his Christmas Kick-Off box and reading the books included in it.What fun traditions do you have to kick-off the Christmas Season?

Last year I did this for the 5 days before Christmas, but it was mostly just PJ's and a bedtime book. Not Christmas eve, but the night before I put the movie, popcorn and cocoa in it. He loved the little gifts each night.

I am looking for new pjs for this year for the kiddos! We do LEGO advent calendars and I am adding the book a night under the tree.
