Every time we go to Disney World I like to ask Jackson what his favorite part of each day was. He always makes me smile with what part of the day was his favorite. Sometimes I’m surprised by his choices, like when he picked the Safari at Animal Kingdom over the amazing character lunch we had. I love these little insights into what makes him happy (Disney does, obviously).
When we attended the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration at Walt Disney World, I decided that not only did I want to keep track of what was Jackson’s favorite parts of the days but also what mine were.
Thursday
Thursday was the first day of the celebration we had a welcome dinner in Epcot and got to attend the Illuminations Dessert party. Dinner was delicious, we had fried chicken and waffles, which totally made me rethink two of my favorite foods. I’ve been trying to recreate that combo since we got back.
My favorite part of the day: While the first day of the celebration was exciting. My favorite part was was the dessert party and Illuminations. I have been wanting to do the dessert party for years and Illuminations was Jackson’s first time seeing fireworks, and I can’t imagine having a better view than we did.
Jackson’s favorite part of the day: Jackson had a great time at the welcome dinner. We got out on the dance floor for a couple of songs and he got to meet Mickey. His favorite part was meeting Baymax and Hiro from Big Hero Six. We got to give Baymax a big hug and as Jack said, “he was so soft!”
Friday
Friday was conference day for me, which meant being up and out early; John and Jackson explored the park with my in-laws. The entire line up of conference speakers was not revealed until each speaker stepped on to stage and the day was filled with excitement, inspiration and a bit of Pixie Dust. That night Mickey invited us to his Beach Party at the Yacht and Beach Club.
My favorite part of the day: The conference had so many moments that were inspiring, that it’s getting it’s own post. So my favorite part of the day was Mickey’s Beach Party. John got us a great table by the water, the view was perfect and we had great friends to share the night with. Shell, and her family were our conference buddies for the weekend and every thing is better with a friend. My food highlight was the pork belly with cotton candy and caramel sauce, we are still talking about how good it was.
Jackson’s favorite part of the day: Jackson spent the day in the Magic Kingdom riding some of his favorite rides. His favorite part of the day was meeting Mickey and Minnie at the beach party. This was the third time in 2 days that Jack got to see Mickey, and his excitement at seeing him never diminishes.
Saturday
Saturday we had a once in a lifetime opportunity to be filmed riding Dumbo before Magic Kingdom opened. I always love the view from the top of Dumbo and the feeling that I get as we fly by and see both Cinderella Castle and Beast’s Castle in the background. I’ll have the video to share later this week! After our flight we headed to Downtown Disney to catch a preview of Disney Pixar’s Inside Out. I can’t say much about the movie other than I loved it. After the movie we had the day free to ourselves and we spent it at Hollywood Studios.
My favorite part of the day: There were so many today that it was hard to pick. The flight with Dumbo, Inside Out and screaming on Rock N Roller Coaster were great. But for me this trip was something that my hard work got my family invited to, and I love to see my boys happy. So my highlight was when we surprised Jackson with dinner at Hollywood and Vine for Jedi Mickey’s Star Wars Dinner. I got lucky with a last minutes reservation for this and it was well worth it.
Jackson’s favorite part of the day: He’s a simple kid and loved riding Toy Story Mania, more than once. He also loved meeting Jedi Mickey and if you are keeping count of Mickeys that is Mickey #4 for this visit.
Sunday
Sunday started with a fun run from the Yacht and Beach Club resort into Epcot. It was exciting to be running in Epcot before it opened. After the run my family was still sleeping so I had some downtime on the beach at YBC. I love this place, it’s one of my favorites in Disney World, John proposed here and said that this place reminds him of me because it’s beachy and full of fun and of course Disney. Once my family was up we were treated to a special Mother’s Day Brunch and a performance by Voice Play. Then it was off to Magic Kingdom and Epcot for a Mother’s Day that I will never forget. My in-laws left on an early flight and I had my boys all to myself.
My favorite part of the day: It was a great day and I loved getting to celebrate Mother’s Day in Disney with my boys. Alamo, sponsored the general conference sessions and generously gave all the Disney Social Media Moms gift cards. I was able to treat myself to a Mickey Alex and Ani bracelet, for Mother’s Day. My favorite part was my boys being a part of the story at Enchanted Tales with Belle.
Jackson’s favorite part: Riding Buzz Lightyear, it’s his favorite ride, and meeting Mickey at Town Hall. This is his favorite Mickey since he talks, and yes that makes 5 different Mickey’s in 4 days. Cause that is how we do Disney.
While this post is long, I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface of how awesome Disney Social Media Moms was. It was a whirlwind weekend filled with magic and memories that I won’t soon forget.
My family was invited to the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration and we received discounted rates and tickets. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It all looks so amazing! Disney in and of itself is a blast, but it's obvious the conference takes it to a whole other level. Looks like a great time was had by all!

I'm excited to see Inside Out this summer. I can't imagine how excited my kids would be for a Star Wars dinner. Sounds like it was amazing!
