Days of Summer Week 4

I always feel like once it’s 4th of July the summer starts moving really fast, and that makes me a little bit sad. But I’m feeling pretty good about the summer and even though I never got around to making a bucket list, we’ve actually done a lot of the things that would have been on it. This week we mentally checked off pool party and dollar movies.

Saturday July 4
We had a very low key July 4th and mostly hung out at home. We did get some ice cream in the evening. John and I even enjoyed a glass of wine by the fire.

Sunday July 5
We had a pool party at our house, it was a blast laughing and splashing with the kids. The party started at 1 and didn’t end till 10, needless to say we were all exhausted the next day.

Quite possibly the most epic picture of the summer

Monday July 6

Jack had his first day of camp and then we did a little swimming with the neighbors in the afternoon. While he was at camp I savored every moment of having the house and TV to myself.

Tuesday July 7

I took Jack to see Paddington at the movie theater for $1 movie day. It was our first time doing that and we had a great time, though some of the movie was surprisingly a little intense for little kids. Then we ran errands until it was time for swimming lessons. Then I met friends at a local restaurant for our book club meeting. We read In the Unlikely Event by Judy Blume.

Wednesday July 8

I worked and then drove home in an awful rain storm. Once home I headed to my Moms Night Out, we got pedicures and then went out for drinks and apps.

Thursday July 9

I worked again and my co-worker and I went on a mission to find cupcakes. It was a busy day at work and I ended up taking some work home, so I broke out the big wine glass. Jack had to show off the Olaf mask he got from a character dinner with my in-laws.

Friday July 10

Jack went to camp and I got my hair done because I couldn’t go to NYC next week with gray hair. After I picked Jack up from camp he got his hair cut. Then we just hung out at home and it was kind of nice to just relax.
