8 Things to Look Forward to This Fall

This weekend my Facebook news feed was filled with people lamenting the end of summer. As much as I love summer, for me summer is always a mad rush of squeezing every bit of fun in that by the end I’m exhausted. I look forward to fall, when the tourists pack up, the traffic dies down and the weather cools off. And while our schedule is still pretty full, sometimes fall feels like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. If you are sad that summer has come to an end, here are 8 things to look forward to this fall.

8 Things to Look Forward to This Fall

Pumpkin Everything

I know that in the last few years the pumpkin phenomenon has gotten blown out of proportion, but I’ve been a fan of pumpkin long before it was trendy. I love making pumpkin muffins and pumpkin pasta. I buy a can of pumpkin almost every time I go to the grocery stores. I even have an entire Pinterest board just for pumpkin.

Hayrides and Farms

One of my favorite memories of Jackson’s first year was taking him to the pumpkin patch. We have visited the pumpkin patch every year since and it’s always one of my favorite events of the year. I love getting lost in the corn maze and watching Jackson pick his pumpkin.

Sleeping with the Windows Open

I could even change that just having the windows open, since it’s early September and it’s still in the 90’s here. I am so tired of forced cold air, I just want some fresh air in the house.

Apple Picking

Early in the summer I took Jackson strawberry picking at this great farm and my plan is to get back there this month to pick apples. I’ve never been apple picking before and I’m looking forward to it.

Sunday Football

My family loves football and while I might be the least enthusiastic fan in the house I do like cheering on our favorite team. I also don’t mind that watching football usually goes hand in hand with cold beers and great food. I’m all about Sunday football just for the snacks.

Fall Beers

For me fall is the season of beer, or more appropriately pumpkin beer. Last fall one of my favorite drinks was a Shipyards Pumpkinhead with a cinnamon sugar rim. It was like fall perfection in a glass.

Boot Season

I may have grown up at the beach and I still live 15 minutes away but I am not a flip flop girl. I love boots and I’m so ready for it to cool down so I can break out my favorite brown over the knee boots.

Comfy Clothes

If you were a fly on the wall at my house you would hear Jackson and I talk a lot about being comfy. Whether it’s snuggling on the couch, lounging in our pj’s and changing into our comfy clothes once we are home for the day. I love that fall makes sweatpants, sweaters and hoodies all acceptable to wear.

What are you looking forward to this fall?
