I call you peanut and bean and peanut butter and string bean and munchy, and little miss fussy pants.
But your brother and your Dad call you Gracie.
Your brother loves you so much and sometimes in the morning when you fuss he rushes in to sing to you and rock your sleeper. He’s the first to hear you cry and is quick to tell me. He wants to be the best big brother, and he already is.
You’ve started smiling first at me and then at your brother but Dad had to work hard for his first smile. You aren’t always amused by our attempts to make you smile and yesterday I caught you giving me some serious side-eye.
You cluster feed and are fussy at night. So I nurse you and put you in the baby wrap and hold you tight. You love being all wrapped up whether in a swaddle or being worn close to mommy.
After 8 weeks of waking ever 2 hours you are starting sleep for 4-6 hours at a time , it’s amazing.
At your check up you were 9 lbs, 22 inches. Still a peanut but you’ve come a long way and have made your way onto the growth charts.
You have given your Dad and Nana a hard time with your fussiness and seem to only want Mommy.
You are so very similar to your brother, people stop and tell me all the time how much the two of you look-alike. And yet as your mother I know you two are so very different.
I’m amazed by how much I love both of you. But having a daughter is so very different from having a son and even though you are still so very little I can’t help but think of all the wonderful adventures we are going to have.
