Yesterday I spent the day in New York, thanks to an invitation from Red Baron Pizza to meet The Baroness. I met my friend Jen from Jersey Family Fun, early in the morning and a car picked us up to take us on the two-hour drive to New York City. When we arrived we were welcomed with food and the options of having a manicure, a make-up refresh or designing out own bomber jacket like The Baroness. I was lucky to do all three.
We got to meet The Baroness who isn’t just a spokesperson or personality, she’s a mom, the type of mom that I would want as my wingmama. We talked, laughed and shared stories about our kids and what TV shows we watch when we need a break. I’m thinking I may have convinced her to start watching Scandal, fingers crossed. We posed for photos and we relaxed. Which was so needed especially this time of year.
I was looking at all the wingmama patches and, I couldn’t help but think about the wingmama’s in my life. Like the friend offered to bring my son home from school or the friends who offered to lend me a booster seat so that someone could pick my son up. The friend who watched my kids the day before so I could go to a meeting.
There are friends who help me on the daily, whether just by texting me to remind me that I’m not alone in this journey or to invite me on a much needed night out. The friends who don’t mind that I forgot to RSVP to the birthday party or that I left the present in the car once I got there. The friends who drop me off root beer floats when I’m having a bad day.
My wingmamas help make me the mom I am. I know that with good moms in my life, I’m never flying solo. And I love that The Baroness is putting the spotlight on just how important it is for all moms to have a wingmama.
I was invited to attend The Baroness VIP event, I was not required to share about my experience. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
