Earlier this month I had the chance to take Jackson to New York to Sweet Suite, The Biggest Night of Play, where we had the opportunity to view all the new toys coming out just in time for the holiday season. We, well mostly Jack cause I sat back and let him hand out the business cards and do all the talking, got to play with hottest toys that are coming out. We had a blast and Jackson instantly declared it the best day ever.
One of the good things about bringing Jackson is that it gave me a real insight into what toys kids really like to play with. When I look at a toy I’m looking for totally different things then he’s looking for. So here’s a sneak peek of some toys that he loved at Sweet Suite and that I’m sure your kids will love too.
Hot Holiday Toys 2018
Clack Game
Jack and I loved this simple game where you matched colors, shapes and icons using magnetic pieces that stack together. This would make a great stocking stuffer and is the perfect game for traveling or for playing while in a restaurant. It’s fast paced and easy to learn. For 2-6 players and for ages 5 and up. Get it here. Coming soon to stores.
K’Nex Thrill Rides Bionic Blast Roller Coaster Building Set
The looks alone on this toy are pretty impressive but add int he virtual reality viewer and the K’Nex Ride It app, which lets users ride the coaster and you’ve got one pretty impressive toy. This toy definitely ranked high with Jackson for being very memorable and original. I love the combo of a building toy along with an app. For ages 9 and up. Check it out here.
Ben 10 Alien Creation Chamber
Here’s where moms lack of knowledge comes in and it pays to have a kid with you. I had no idea who Ben 10 was but Jackson and every other kid in the area were really excited about the Ben 10 Alien Creation Chamber. Kids can mix and match figures to create new characters using the Alien Creation Chamber. For ages 4 and up. Check it out here.
Crayola Crayon Melter
If you have ever melted crayons with kids you know 2 things, one it can really messy and frustrating and two kids love it. The Crayola Crayon Melter gives kids all the fun but controls a lot of the mess by letting kids melt crayons in a “pen” that they can then use to color, draw and create. Keeping the mess contained but keeping all the fun. Jack loved trying out this toy and deemed it very cool. Recommended for ages 8 and up. Check it out here.
Treasure X Adventure
I can admit that I find blind bag toys to be frustrating. I hate getting the same toy over and over and I hate how short-lived the fun is. This is not the case with Treasure X Adventure. Kids start with a brick of “gold” and slowly work their way through the brick using a set of instructions to help them build a pirate and find the treasure. This toy was a little messy but Jack loved it and it kept him occupied for about 30-45 minutes as he dug for treasure and assembled his pirate. This was one of his favorite toys at the event and I’m sure we will be buying a few more. One in 18 has a real gold treasure. For ages 4 and up. Check it out here.
Grumblies
What’s a Grumblie? A Grumblie is a creature that came from the earth’s core and watery caves and fiery pits. You have to be careful with them or they might just have a meltdown. These tiny toys have over 40 sounds and reactions based on how you interact with them and yes 2 of those interactions are farting and burping. Jackson laughed hysterically at these and loved them. Look for them in Fall 2018.
Mystery Flying Snitch
Have you ever wanted to be like Harry Potter and be a Quidditch seeker looking for the golden snitch? Well if you answered yes, and really who wouldn’t answer yes, then the Mystery Flying Snitch is for you. This Snitch flys just like the Snitch in a game of Quidditch, so grab your Quidditch robes and your Nimbus 2000 and get seeking. This was easily the most awe-inspiring toy at Sweet Suite and the one that Jack has talked about every day since.

Roblox
Jackson schooled me on all things Roblox even though he has never played it before he was really interested in it since many of his friends play it. Apparently, Roblox is the largest user-generated online gaming platform where kids can play in an immersive universe that is family friendly. Jack received a bling bag Roblox character and we can’t wait to check out the game on his Kindle tablet.

Playskool Heroes Marvel Super Hero Adentures Iron Man Power Up Headquarters Set
The best moment of the night was when Jack and I were waiting to check out a toy when a dad tapped us on the shoulder and held up the Iron Man Power Up Headquarters and said, “did you know they are giving these away in the back”. The look on Jack’s face when he was handed that toy was unforgettable and made his night. The Iron Man Power Up Headquarters Set lived up to the excitement. Featuring Iron Man and The Hulk along with a hidden motorcycle ramp, launching web nets and a trap door. For any Marvel fan this toy is a must have and plays well with all of the other Playskool Heroes playsets.

Lego Harry Potter sets
Lego + Harry Potter I really don’t feel like I need to say more but these sets were so cute and the attention to detail is something every Potterhead will appreciate. We can’t wait to get our hands on Hogwarts Great Hall. There is also a set of blind bag Lego Harry Potter Mini figures coming out this fall, that I know we will be on the lookout for.
