We don’t get much time to ourselves these days.
There is always someone around.
Always another opinion as to what to do
with our day, as to how to pass our time.

Sometimes by the end of the day I’m exhausted. I’m
tired of sharing him. I’m tired of the opinions. I’m tired of being second
guessed.

Before our house sold and we moved in with my parents we had endless amounts of time just the two of us.
So when he wakes up at 5 am, I remind myself that
this is our time.

That this hour or two in the early morning when the sun
barely drifts through the windows, may be the only time that we have just the
two of us.

I pull myself out of bed and go into Jacks room. He’s always standing in his crib clinging to blankie, smiling and ready to start the day.
I make the coffee and fix our breakfast. He watches Sesame Street and I read
the paper.
The cuddles, kisses and smiles are all mine. And
I ain’t sharing.

I loved this. I wasn't sure who you were talking about, because I don't know your entire story, but it didn't matter. I love it. How sweet. Makes me feel slightly sad about my own PYHO tangent today, but I think we all have the varying moments of motherhood. Thank you for sharing yours. 🙂

you have every right to be selfish of your time with your lil guy. It goes too fast and it sounds like with all the changes you both need some routine and stability.

That would be so hard! We all need our time.
It is hard but we are making the best of it.
Good for you! Take the private time you can get. I can only imagine how hard it is having everyone's eyes, ears and mouths open to everything.

Oh, I've been in your shoes! Except I couldn't peel myself out of bed that early, so I didn't get much time alone. I hope you have a place of your own again soon.
