There is a custard stand around the corner from our house called The Custard Hut. It is open every year from Early March through Mid November. Like the post man, people flock to The Custard Hut in rain or snow or dark of night.
So when The Custard Hut hung up a banner at the beginning of the month announcing that they would open Presidents weekend, John and I knew that it was time for Jackson’s first Custard Hut.
Now of course we didn’t make him wait in the cold, because that’s what Daddies are for.
I think the jimmies (aka sprinkles) were his favorite part.

I don't think I have ever had frozen custard but I love ice cream, frozen yogurt and pudding so I am sure I would love it.
Julia Hunter says
It tastes a lot like frozen yogurt but my husband would argue that they are totally different.
Lizbeth says
He's adorable!!! Bonus points for daddy going to get it!
Julia Hunter says
Thank you, Daddy going to get the custard makes it taste better.
Elaine A. says
Frozen custard rocks and you are SUPER parents for introducing it to your child right away! 😉
Julia Hunter says
Thank you, we like to think we are super too, lol.

I grew up in New York, where there wasn't frozen custard, but my fiance grew up in South Jersey, and there was a custard stand right in his town (ironically, with the same name!) that was open only from March – November like that, and it was AMAZING! The drive to Jersey from New York wasn't too bad when I could get custard at the end of the trip! I am super jealous right now!
Julia Hunter says
So I have to ask where your husband grew up because there is another Custard Hut right near where my husband grew up.

Yummy! Looks like he enjoyed having custard for the first time (and sprinkles).
Julia Hunter says
Yes he did!
Kimberly says
That looks delicious!
Julia Hunter says
It was delicious but he couldn't finish it all so mom and dad had to help.
Melissa Ann says
Debate! Sprinkles = rainbow colored. Jimmies = chocolate. (I swear it must be a north/south thing…lol). Jacks looked like he loved it! So cute!
Julia Hunter says
For me they are always jimmies regarless of color, but I definitely think it's a north/south jersey thing.
