We went to Disney World last week, and it was still Christmas in the most magical place on earth. Which meant that Jack got to see “kissmas lights” and hear “ajinglebell rock” one more time.
Mom-Mom and Jack checking out the Osborne Spectacle of Lights.
It was sort of a once in a lifetime trip, getting to spend a whole week with my mom and Jack. It was priceless.
I wanted to capture every bit of it. I wanted to treasure these moments and wrap them up so that throughout this long cold winter, I can look back and think of fun and sun.
In the middle of our trip my Dad arrived and we got to share some family fun as the four of us. It was so fun to walk the parks together and remember all the fun we had when I was a kid.
And when they left to travel further south for the winter (typical snow birds) there were tears and hugs and promises to do it again.
I think that’s the wonderful thing about family. The togetherness, the priceless memories, the moments that are so full of fun, laughter and magic that I don’t want it to end.
Then Jack and I had a day to ourselves. A beautiful, fun, magical, exhausting day just the two of us. For anyone considering taking a 2 year old around the Magic Kingdom by themselves start training now.
The Disney staff was so helpful at every turn during the whole trip but especially when I was on my own. From helping me with my bags to keeping Jack stocked with “Mickey stickies” they made my day alot easier.
And I finally got to live the dream and see New Fantasy Land.
Let me tell you 9 year old Jul squeeled with joy at the Beauty and the Beast themed area. I always thought of myself as Belle, the girl with her “nose stuck in a book”. So of course I had to have my picture here…
Now if only I had a book and a blue dress.
And like any Disney trip I was a little sad when it was all over. But it was nice to have a bit of magic, in the midst of a very dreary January.

That looks like so much fun! And go you, for taking a 2 year old around Disney by yourself 🙂

Thank you! It was harder and easier (if that makes sense) than I thought.

That looks like a blast! I went down last February with some friends and this made me want to go back so bad.

I always want to go back. I've only been home a few days and I'm already thinking of when I can go back.

Looks like so much fun! I can't wait until the boys are old enough to take to Disneyland
Julia Hunter says
Oh it is so much fun with kids. No matter what age seeing Disney through their eyes is just priceless.

Not sure if I've mentioned this but when we first moved to Southern Ca 10 years I ago I knew no one and had no backyard yet, just dirt. So while Glenn spent the summer putting in our backyard I bought Emry & I Disneyland season passes and we spent the summer there (Lila was 9 months and free). I have so many good memories of pushing Lila around and just letting Emry do whatever she wanted. And you're right, the staff is amazing and so accomodating. You're also right about family, nothing better 🙂 Have a great week.

I can't believe you took two kids by yourself to Disney. I had my hands full with one. It is so much fun to let them do whatever they want in Disney.

Looks like you had so much fun. I say it all the time, but it's really been too long since I've been to Disney.
Julia Hunter says
We had such a good time, I used to say that about Disney too, I'm so happy I was able to get back.

I love that you had that time with just your mom and Jack. That is so special and then for your dad to join you…Disney truly is magical. It takes us back in time to when we were kids and reminds us that life is much better with make believe in it!
Julia Hunter says
You are so right, it really does remind us how much better life is with a make believe in it. This trip was so special to me.

I love the photos of the Christmas lights and of course all the happy smiling faces photos too. Looks like a wonderful trip. I'm sure your parents loved seeing the smiles and fun from their Grandson. 🙂

My parents had a great time. My mom keeps calling it the "time of her life". I'm so glad we were able to do it.

That sounds amazing. Some of my favorite memories (old and new) are with my parents, my mom in particular. It looks like you had a fantastic time!

Some of my best memories are with my mom too. She's my best friend.
