This Christmas was more magical than the last.
This was the year of scribbling letters to Santa and believing.
It was the year for feeding Reindeer for the first time, asking for presents and for looking for magic.
It was a season of bright eyed excitement.
It was a year of wants, maybe too many wants and maybe too many presents.
We went big with Christmas this year, maybe too big.
The season was a week shorter and I really felt like I needed to make each moment count a little bit more. We are in it, these years of believing in Santa and Reindeer and Magic.
It was a year of watching A Mickey Christmas Carol and Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas over and over again. It was another year of listening to Jingle Bell Rock over and over.
It was a year for lots of holiday crafts and eating a few too many cookies. It was a year of starting new traditions and letting go of a few old ones.
It was the year that I felt we came into our own as a family, setting a path for holidays to come. Laying down the traditions that are important to us, focusing on how our family wants to enjoy the holiday rather than worrying about what everyone else thought we should do.
This Christmas was a good one. The kind of Christmas I imagined long before I had kids, the kind of Christmas I remember loving as a kid. This Christmas is one I hope Jack looks back on and says, “That was a great Christmas”.

I'm so glad that you had a good one. Ours- was not so great. But the beauty of Christmas is that there's always next year 🙂
