Valentine’s Day

How do you typically celebrate Valentine’s Day?

For a long time we didn’t because I came into our relationship a Valentine’s hater. Then when we had Jack it became an opportunity to get out for the night, last year we saw Annie in New York and that was amazing. This year we didn’t  do much other than putting the kid to bed early and enjoying a meal at home where we can actually talk to each other.

Do you like to get A)chocolates B) flowers  C) a sweet card or D) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

E, none of the above. I’m more of a lets do something kinda gal.

Would you consider yourself a “cuddler”?  If not, would you at least cuddle on Valentine’s Day?

I like the idea of cuddling but when it comes down to it I prefer to be left alone. Except with Jack then I want to cuddle and he wants to be left alone.

What is your favorite movie about love or with a love story?

I have too many!
Gone with the Wind, Clark Gable can sweep me off my feet any day.
Love Actually because it’s just so good.
When Harry Met Sally – “I hate you Harry, I hate you”.

Do you believe in “love at first sight”?  Did it happen to you?

No, but I believe in lust at first sight and that can sometimes turn into love.

Do you believe love can conquer all things?

I believe that it should but, that it doesn’t always.

What is one of the main things you love about your S.O.(significant other)?

He lets me be me. He laughs when I tell a bad joke. He’s a great father. He always encourages me and never limits me.  Oh and this is how I knew he was the one.

If you could have the perfect Valentine date what would you and your loved one do?

When we were in Disney we sat in this little wine bar and had tapas and wine and it was perfect. I would do something similar to that. Or Aruba, anything involving Aruba would work.

Tell me about your first crush!

His name was Vito and it was the second grade.

Do you have any embarrassing or horror dating stories?

At a party once a guy asked me if I wanted to go back to his place because “he had bunk beds”. Clearly the answer was no.

Favorite flower?

Gerber Daisy

the first type of chocolate you hope for when you reach into a box of chocolates?

Anything involving caramel or nuts.

Favorite love song?

In My Life – The Beatles, I walked down the aisle to it at my wedding.

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you

And these memories lose their meaning

When I think of love as something new

Though I know I’ll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I’ll often stop and think about them

In my life I love you more

What is the best breakup song?

Someone Like You – Adele is break up perfection in my opinion.
Shadow Boxer – Fiona Apple has just the right amount of anger and pride.

Favorite celebrity couple?

Kelly Ripa and Mark Conseulos I love watching them when they co-host Live.

Overall, are you pro- or anti- Valentine’s Day?

I used to be very anti-Valentine’s Day in high school and college I used to wear black on Valentine’s Day. I admit it was a bit over the top. Now I’m kinda “meh” about the whole thing. Though Jack is now excited about any holiday and that makes me want to make it special for him. He’s my little Valentine and it doesn’t get any better than that.

If someone did that “Say Anything” boombox thing outside your window, would you be into it, or call the police?

I’ve never seen Say Anything but I saw it recreated in Easy A and I would totally go for it.

First thing you notice about the objects of your affection?

Eyes, smile, scruff. I love a man who’s a bit unshaven, lol.

What’s the best thing you’ve ever gotten for Valentine’s Day?

We don’t really do gifts on Valentine’s Day but a few years ago John surprised me with a Michael Kors bag, that was pretty sweet.

I'm not a big fan of Valentine's Day either. Still am not. But I'm less of a hater now. 🙂

I think my hatred for it diminishes each year. Once I was not in high school or college and then when I was married the holiday seemed to be less annoying.

We don't usually do anything big for Valentine's day, perhaps a card. It's just an excuse for us to get each other candy, which I'm okay with! But I totally agree, I've changed my views on holidays like this now that I have kids, they make it more fun.
