Sweet Suite 2014

Earlier this month I attended Sweet Suite 2014, which is known as The Biggest Night of Play. Sweet Suite gives bloggers a chance to get up close and play with all the new toys that will be coming out in time for the holiday season.

Part of my Sweet Suite crew Jessica, Mommy University and Jennifer, Jersey Family Fun

I had never been to anything like Sweet Suite before and wasn’t sure what to expect but I was completely blown away by Sweet Suite. It was so fun to play with the toys and see all the items that will be on Jack’s Christmas list this year.

This event was definitely a night for Moms (and Dads), there were sweets galore, wine and an after party. Which made for a perfect night out.

Here are some of my favorite finds from Sweet Suite 2014.

Crayola had a station set up when we came in for us to make our own media badge. They also had a table full of place mats, lunch bags and key chains along with arts and crafts supplies. I love crayola products and they are the only crayons and markers I will buy.

If there was one toy I regretted not having for Jackson when he was younger it was the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Learning Home. He played with this toy all the time when we visited friends. Fisher Price has a new version of it out the Laugh and Learn Puppy’s Smart Home. Fisher Price is introducing Smart Stages which is the “first line of toys that evolve with age-appropriate learning content as baby grows”. You program your child’s age into the toy and the learning content will update with each new stage. How cool is that?! I love a toy that grows with you, and even though Jack has aged out of this toy I’m still really excited by it and might be picking one up for the babies in my life.
Boogie Boards was a toy that I wanted to buy for my biggest kid, my husband. The Boogie Board Sync 9.7 lets you write on it like it’s a piece of paper and then saves your notes. You can save hundreds of pages and then transfer them to your computer or tablet.
I’ve seen Bananagrams in stores but was never really sure how the game worked, Bananagrams is a crossword style game, now with WildTiles which can stand in for any letter, the game takes on a whole new fun spin. What I like about Bananagrams is you can play with as little as two players which means that this is something my husband and I can play together.
Goldie Blox are engineering toys designed to get girls interested in engineering. The were created by Debbie Sterling, a Stanford Engineer, who wanted to know where all the women were in STEM. Goldie Blox are so cool and let girls use their imagination to build anything.
We couldn’t resist stopping at Just Pretend Kids to try on the fairy wings and tutus. These pretend toys totally brought out my girly side, I mean who wouldn’t love giant pink fairy wings?
Rocking the wings with Karen, A Magical Mommy and Caitlin, 4th Street Payphone
After playing with toys for girls I came upon the ultimate toy for Jack, the Razor Jr Zombie and Monster Kix Three-Wheel Scooters. I love this Zombie scooter that kinda reminds me of Sulley from Monster’s Inc. These scooter make balancing easy for little ones and are the perfect size for preschoolers.
There’s a new Elf in town. Actually Elf Magic dates back to a 50 year family tradition and has been in business for 25 years. Not only is this Elf not creepy looking, he also can be touched and doesn’t report back to Santa. Will he be visiting our house this Christmas? Only time will tell.
My brother was a huge Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Fan growing up and I have to admit so was I, so I was thrilled to see this new line of TMNT for preschoolers called Half-Shell Heroes. These Turtles are so cute, even Shredder is adorable and they are just the right size and shape for kids ages 3 and up. I’m so excited for Jack to check these out.
Care Bears are back! I loved Care Bears as a kid, and I have to admit I still do. I don’t know what it is about these cute, colorful, cuddly bears that makes me feel like a kid again. Which Care Bear is your favorite? Mine has always been Grumpy Bear.
It wouldn’t be a toy post without some Disney toys. I love these new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Tool Set and Handy Helper Tool Box. And anyone who knows us knows that we get excited about anything Mickey.
Which is why I love this chair! Can you believe it’s inflatable?
I may have been a little overly enthusiastic about checking out the kinetic sand from Sands Alive. As a girl who grew up at the beach the idea of Sand that doesn’t crumble that can be played with year round is pretty impressive. I love this set that comes with an ice cream scoop and cone.
The Elecktrokidz Robots from WowWee toys were definitely something to see. All these troll like robots are so fun to watch dance and move.
My favorite product, for me, was the wine from Zipz Wine that comes in a recyclable single serving cup with a top that clicks on to the bottom and can be screwed on and off to keep your wine from spilling. It’s perfect for all your outdoor drinking needs and just what this Mom needed after a long night of playing with toys.
Sweet Suite 2014 was a fabulous night with great friends. We had so much fun playing with the toys and then hanging out afterwards at the Angry Birds Stella After Party where I got some hair bling with Caitlin and enjoyed some purple drinks with Shell, Things I Can’t Say and Kristen.
For more from Sweet Suite please check out my photo album on the Wine In Mom Facebook page.
A little over a week later this box of awesome arrived at my door and I couldn’t wait to pour a glass of wine and check out all the awesome toys that I get to share with friends and family this year.

Stop back tomorrow for my recap of Blogger Bash!
