This week has been rough, we found out that our dog, Bailey, is very sick and that his days with us are sadly numbered. This is why I’ve been so quieter on social media.
It’s been really hard knowing that we have to say goodbye and I still haven’t found the words but I hope to find them, I need to find them, that’s how a writer grieves.
But I did want to keep with these Sunday morning posts, so today I thought I would just share a few things from around the internet.
My friend Marci, who is a real life friend turned blogger, has this great recipe for Italian Veggie Meatballs. It’s a great recipe for enjoying winter comfort food without all the extra calories.
My friend Shell, is not the cool mom in the neighborhood and honestly neither am I. And I’m totally OK with it.
My friend Jessica, shared about losing her pet on her blog and this weekend it’s brought me some solace reading what others have gone through in losing a pet.
My friend Kristin’s daughter is working on a project for her school and is creating comfort care bags for teens going through chemotherapy. She is collecting items that are needed for the bags every day items like lotion because chemotherapy can irritate your skin and adult coloring books to help them take their minds off of things. She has created a wish list on Amazon and hopes to help 12 teens but would love to help more, so if you can donate just a little (most items are under $10) you will help her reach her goal and provide comfort to a teen suffering from cancer.
I also wanted to share with these two posts that I wrote about Bailey. This one about how Bailey came into our lives. And this one that I wrote a few months ago that resonates so much more now than it did then, Don’t Get a Dog.
And now I’m going to go back to watching the snow fall and enjoying some cuddles with my favorite pup.
And while finding joy has been hard these past few days, I can’t help but smile and laugh at this picture.
