Summer time has me always looking for an easy drink to serve by the pool or to put in a cooler for a trip to the beach. I want something that is easy to make and easy to drink. Something that pairs well with layering on endless amounts of sunscreen and reading the same sentence of a book over and over again because you keep getting interrupted. Something that makes me feel like I’m on vacation for just a moment, and not shouting to stop running around the pool or yelling not to throw sand.
I want something that takes me away for just a moment. Because if Mom has to endure the sand, the whining and reapplying sunscreen every few hours then she can at least do it with a cocktail in hand.
Beach Whiskey Sour
2 oz Ripe Bar Juice Bajan Punch
1 oz Island Coconut Beach Whiskey
Sugar
Pineapple
Ice
Directions:
Place ice in a glass 8 oz glass. In a shaker combine Bajan Punch and whiskey and shake. Remove ice from glass. Use a lime or a damp paper towel to wet the rim of the glass, then rim glass with sugar. Pour drink into glass, garnish with pineapple.
My favorite part about this drink is that the Ripe Bar Juice is fresh pressed and doesn’t contain any nasty additives or sugar substitutes. Which means your cocktail doesn’t have that overly sweet, mix taste to it, instead it tastes like fresh juice. This makes for a refreshing cocktail and one that is lower in calories because it’s not pumped full of sugar.
I love finding healthier and fresher ways to make cocktails. One of the reasons I’m not one to order cocktails at a bar is because you never know what is in the mix. With Ripe Bar Juice I always know what I’m drinking.
