My Birthday is today which also means it is halfway through the summer. Whether that news makes you excited that you have survived summer vacation this far or whether that news makes you sad that you are getting closer to back to school. For me it’s always a little bit bittersweet. I love my birthday but I hate the feeling that so much of summer vacation has already slipped by. I tend to start feeling anxious come this point in the summer that we haven’t done all the things, not that I’m every 100% certain what all the things are.
So I decided since it’s my birthday month and halfway point of summer, now is a good time to treat yourself. Whether that’s a splurging at Nordstrom Sale (guilty) or treating yourself to a Fab Fit Fun box (also guilty) or getting some much-needed time to yourself, it’s always nice to treat yourself even if it’s just a little bit.
These are some splurges I’ve made recently and that you might want to check out too.
After months of watching unboxings and looking at all the cute items on Instagram, I finally caved in and got my first Fab Fit Fun box and I have to say I loved every item in it.
A quick recap of my favorites:
Juice Beauty Smoothing Eye Cream – I’m not a beauty product person but this stuff works and I would buy it on my own. It made me look more awake by reducing dark circles and puffiness.
Eau Thermale Avene Ultra Light Hydrating Sunscreen lotion – I loved how light this was especially since it is an SPF 50, it is now part of my daily routine.
Michael Stars Ruana – It’s a scarf, it’s a wrap skirt, it’s a shawl you can throw over your shoulders. It’s perfect for summer.
The cost of these 3 items separately is more than the Fab Fit Fun box, which includes even more cool items like a necklace and other beauty products. You can use my link to save $10 on your first Fab Fit Fun box.
You may have seen my post yesterday on Facebook about some of the things I picked up at the Nordstrom Sale.
If not here are a few of the things I treated myself to and a few things I’m considering getting. I’m breaking them down by splurge.
Slight Splurge, $20 or under:
- A beyond basic tee-shirt
- My go-to tank for the beach or just hanging around the house.
- Because these are my new wardrobe necessity.
- Going out shirt.
- Basic black leggings that you don’t have to fight in a Facebook group to get.
Splurge Worthy, $50 or under:
- Possibly the coolest leggings ever.
- Because fall is coming and it’s chilly on the soccer field.
- When you want to feel a little fancy but you are also hanging home in leggings.
- Converse slip-ons which basically pair well with everything.
Super Splurge, to infinity and beyond or over $50
- Because I think I would wear these boots everywhere.
- But I’m more likely to get wear out of these.
- This would make me look like one bad mother.
- Possible birthday splurge or new job splurge or oh what the hell splurge.
Quick tip the sale is only for Nordstrom cardholders right now and opens to everyone on July 21st. BUT you can sign up for a Nordstrom card online and hit the sales now.
If making shopping decisions is too much for you, just do what I did and order a Stitch Fix. I have a Bachelorette party coming up and a birthday celebration at a winery and I wasn’t sure what to wear to either so I set up a Stitch Fix and requested some summer dresses.
