These past few months have not been my best.
We sold our home, we moved in with my parents, we found out that the house we are buying will be taking months to settle.
Our dog was attacked and I am losing my job at the end of the summer.
And while there has been fun times, lately life feels a bit like a bad country song.
I’ve been known to wallow in the bad. To fail to see the silver lining. And with each new disappointment and each set back I fight the urge to wallow.
I fight the urge to be swallowed by all that is going wrong. I force myself to focus on what is going right. To focus on my blessings and the good times.
And everytime I need a pick me up it is this face that does it.

It is so amazing how those eyes, smiles, giggles can pull us out of the dark spaces that we allow our heads to pull our hearts into. That photo just made me smile too! You chose some great words to capture that memory!
Julia Hunter says
You are so right. I'm glad he made you smile too.
Jessica says
I hope the bad passes soon and that you get back to the good. In the meantime, continue to enjoy that adorable face.
Julia Hunter says
Thank you. I hope it passes too.

We had a VERY similar summer in 2010, we got through it, life is better now and gets better by the day. Take care
Julia Hunter says
It's so nice to know that someone has been through this before. We are hanging in there and I know that once our new home settles there will be better days ahead.
